Last night was the calmest so far and the first time we did not need a blanket.
After a great night's sleep we were really refreshed ready to go.
Our destination was the coves on the north of Hook Is.
07:15 Spinnaker set.
08:50 It was a pleasant run and we changed course for BLue Pearl Bay, making 6 knots in a TWS of 18 knots.
08:30 we saw a squall coming so we decided to douse the spinnaker; just in time as a bullet of 28 knot winds hit us. We continued withthe jib alone and arrived at BP Bay at 10:15.
10:30 we had secured one of the blue nNat. Parks mooring buoys which had a 2 hour limit.
There was no way the excessively heavy rope was going to fit any of our cleats so John lashed it on to a bow ring.
We were soon in the water snorkeling and giving the underwater camera housing a run (Canon G10)
There were lots of fish and some coral but visibility was not fantastic.
12:45 we motored around the north side of Hayman and then down the Narrows to Stonehaven Bay. It was bloody rough and heavy going as we bashed into 32 knot winds.
We soon abandoned any thoughts of going to the coves on the north of Hook Is as it was surf out there. We also decided to skip Whitehaven this time around and tomorrow to head for Nara Inlet.
14:00 We tied up to the 5th blue buoy in the most northerly cove in Stonehaven Bay.
